On a day-to-day basis as a Test Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing innovative technology solutions, supporting and ensuring the quality of the existing data platform, and serving our internal stakeholders. We are looking for a driven and passionate individual, who is experienced in data testing, with a focus on developing and managing CI/CD pipelines and automated tests utilising SQL and Google Cloud, though a wide range of knowledge in other data technologies is acceptable. The ideal candidate will work well individually as well as part of a multi-disciplined team, can deliver to timelines, communicate effectively, and think innovatively.

Responsibilities

  • Data testing and supporting of the development process
  • Creating test data in Guidewire/Vectus
  • Reconciliation data checks
  • Supporting and maintaining CQA/QA environments
  • Updating CQA/QA environments with latest code releases
  • Defining tools and frameworks to develop and maintain test automation
  • Identification of test automation opportunities
  • Work closely with the development team to define strategy and best practices
  • Looking for opportunities to “shift-left” testing and test automation
  • Providing clear and accurate documentation for the tests and test automation
  • Contributing towards the continuous improvement of testing and test automation practices
  • Integrating automated tests with the CI/CD pipeline
  • Server housekeeping
  • Update Confluence documents
  • Sharing failures, successes and best practices is in ceremonies.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in building complex test automation frameworks using Python, PowerShell or similar language
  • Experience in integrating automated testing into a CI/CD pipeline – particularly Azure DevOps or Jenkins
  • Experience with BDD, Gherkin or similar
  • Experience with non-functional testing with JMeter or similar
  • Experience of working in an agile environment and the role of QA in agile ceremonies
  • Good SQL experience
  • Working knowledge of JIRA, and Git
  • Real passion for clean code, automation testing, and continuous delivery
  • Experience with automating tests within Cloud Platform
  • An enthusiastic mentor for the team to adopt automation as a definition of done
  • Contribute to and promote the test automation strategy
  • Data and specifically Data warehouse testing
  • You will also be expected to keep your skills up to date by following advancements in data warehousing and test automation.

Interview Process

There will be a 2-stage process, the first is a Technical Assessment and the Second an interview via MS Teams.

Interviews will take place during the week commencing 28th November.
